Year-Round Programs
Miss your friends from the summer? Our year-round programs provide an excellent chance for a reunion in the winter, spring, or fall. These programs are either offâsite or based out of our heated cabins at Camp Burgess.
Halloween Retreat
October 26-28, 2012
We'll climb Dracula's tower, have an eerie paddle on Spectacle Pond, carve pumpkins, spook ourselves with an off-site Haunted Ghost Tour, design our own haunted house right at Camp, and much, much more! All teens stay in heated Burgess Cabins and eat all meals in the Burgess dining hall. Bring your friends ages 12-17 and come see what it's all about!
Winter Ski & Snowboard Adventure
February 17-22, 2013
The best way to spend February vacation is on the White Mountains with friends. We stay in North Conway and visit three mountains, finding time for snow tubing and ice skating. Drop off and pick up (call us for times) is at the Mill Pond YMCA, Hanover. Lessons and equipment rental are extra.

Service Weekend
May 11-13, 2012
If you are looking to get your hands dirty while basking in the charitable spirit of Camp Burgess & Hayward, please join us for our Teen Service Weekend, May 11-13, 2012. This weekend is an excellent blend of amusement and community-building. Teens meet friends, new and old, and stay in the heated cabins at Camp Burgess.
On Saturday, May 12, the Teen Service attendees will join other friends and families of Camp for Volunteer Day. Along with the sprucing up of Camp for the summer, we have a space that always needs some tender loving care- our farm! It's Burgess Farm's first birthday, so there are many ways to contribute to the development of this gorgeous plot of land. Service opportunities include planting, raking, weeding, as well as tidying the cabins for the summer. All teens are encouraged to try new activities, be it exercising your green thumb or painting a masterpiece.
When we're not occupied with beautifying Camp, we'll be able to canoe, swim, toast a marshmallow or two, and just have a blast! We have a fun-filled schedule of activities led by staff from our Summer Camp and Outdoor Education programs. No power tools will be operated by participants with the exception of electric screwdrivers/drills. Help us get ready for summer and leave your benevolent mark on our beautiful Camp. Service hours are available upon request.
