Directors & Staff
We take great pride in our camp staff. Each year approximately 75% of our camp staff are returning staff members. Our camp is run by a year round YMCA director who has extensive camp experience, as well as an Assistant Directors who is also full time staff member of the Y. Our staff is comprised of teaching professionals, local college and high school students. We also have a fully licensed nurse on site during regular camp hours, 9:00AM - 4:00PM.
All of our staff have been interviewed, had reference checks and have had both CORI and SORI background checks completed. During the weeks leading up to camp, all staff members receive 15+ hours of extensive training. Counselor to camper ratio is 1:10, except for Pioneers and Explorers with a ratio of 1:5.

Employment Opportunities
Camp Gordon Clark is always looking for new staff members. We serve South Shore area campers ages 3-15. A variety of programs are available including traditional day camp, sports specialty camps, sailing and kayaking programs, golf camp, and tennis camp. We also offer the Voyagers, which is an outdoor adventure program for 8th and 9th graders. Activities range from hiking, biking, canoeing, trips to the beach and museums, and more.
Previous experience in a camp setting and a passion for working with children is preferred. All staff and volunteers are CORI and SORI checked, and participate in a comprehensive training program.
