At the Emilson YMCA, our programs strengthen families within our community. Parents and kids of all ages come to the Y for exercise, activities, and to just spend time having fun.
The Playroom and Activity Center are two areas where members can play, relax, learn, and have family time together.
If you have any questions, please contact our Youth & Family Staff: Colleen Belcher/Senior Director of Youth & Family/Volunteers at 617-479-8500 ext. 4717 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or Rachael Kuhns/Playroom Coordinator 781-829-8585 ext. 8375 or email@example.com
Filled with toys, books and caring babysitters, our Playroom is open to children ages six weeks through six years old. The Playroom is our care center where parents can drop off children while at the Y.
Safety is our top priority at the Y. To check in, each child and caregiver is given an identification bracelet. Bracelets must be matched by a Playroom staff member before the adult and child can check out. While a child is in the Playroom, the adult caregiver must be in the Emilson Y facility. To meet the needs of all members, there is a two-hour time limit per day (1 ½ hours for children under 12 months old) in the Playroom.
The Activity Center is a fully-staffed area for the older youth members (ages seven and up). Youth can choose do homework, play ping-pong, play air hockey, play a board game or challenge a friend to a video game.
Youth members ages seven through nine must be signed in and out of the Activity Center by an adult caregiver. Youth members age ten and up are welcome to use the Activity Center without the sign-in/sign-out process.
Go out to dinner, see a movie, or catch up with friends while your children play, explore, and learn with experienced, caring YMCA staff. Dinner and a snack will be provided.
During Family Prime Times, certain facility areas are designated specifically for families to spend quality time together participating in structured activities led by our highly-qualified staff or enjoying open playing in a safely-monitored, family-centric environment.
