Welcome to the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center! We are an early childhood educational setting providing full-day, school day and part-day care for children, infants and private kindergarten. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for young children to learn, thrive, and grow. Our programs are developmentally appropriate yet flexible enough to allow room for challenging the unique strengths and abilities of each individual.
Learning Center, Quincy
The South Shore YMCA Learning Center at our Quincy Branch provides a full-day, high quality early education and care program throughout the year. We provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters the physical, cognitive, linguistic, emotional and social growth of children, while supporting and strengthening families. Full-time and part-time programs are available for toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms.
Nature Center Preschool, Norwell
The Nature Center Preschool at the South Shore Natural Science Center combines the idea of a traditional preschool program with all the extra opportunities and excitement offered by the facilities and staff of the South Shore Natural Science Center. Naturalists from the Science Center visit the preschool regularly to provide enrichment activities. Children will explore the Center's diverse habitats on frequent trail walks. Indoor activities include visiting live animals, experiencing the assorted collections of the Center, as well as the museum exhibits.
School Age Child Care, Quincy & Mill Pond (Norwell, Scituate)
The South Shore YMCA School Age Child Care Programs are fun, educational, and help children develop self-confidence, interpersonal relationships, positive values, and academic achievement. No matter your child’s interests, we have activities that are sure to enrich their life. All South Shore YMCA School Age Child Care Programs are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and are mandated to uphold all the policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to school age child care licensing.
School Vacation programs at the South Shore YMCA enable kids to enjoy a variety of fun, safe, and challenging activities during the weeks of December, February, and April school vacations. Full Day programs are also provided on most holidays. Families can be assured of a caring environment where children receive excellent supervision, quality programming, and lasting memories.
