Arts & Humanities

Welcome to Y Arts and Humanities. The YMCA is recognized as a safe, accessible and quality-driven place where kids and adults can learn to paint, write, sing, act or even make a film. It is also becoming the place where innovation in the arts and community building is taking shape, with a special focus on youth. Over the years, the range and scope of Y Arts programming have grown dramatically and today, more than 950 YMCAs are arts-friendly.

At Mill Pond, we serve over 500 children of all ages through these programs, as well as a growing contingency of adults. Whether a child or adult, the art of creation serves as an artery to spirituality, physical and emotional well-being, and communication with our community.

All classes are taught by professional educators, writers, musicians and dancers.

For more information view our Program Guide or call 781-829-8585, x321 or see our Leadership Directory to email.

“I can’t say enough of how much I enjoy my time at the Y. It has changed my life… In my time of need, [the Y staff] have done their utmost to help me with the greatest of courtesy and compassion. I am so thankful and grateful for the opportunity to join with others in the most excellent programs at the South Shore YMCA.”
