Parents and Child Program

Ages 6 Months - 6 years

The Parent/Child swim lessons are a great way to indroduce a child to the water in a fun, safe, and informative setting. With the help of a parent, the instructor will help caregivers and children explore the water. The parent and child pair will learn water acclimation skills and water safety all while participating in a great nurturing and bonding experience. All children who are not potty trained are required to wear a swim diaper.

Water Babies: (6-18 months with parent)  The Water Babies class serves as a great introduction to the water for caregivers and their infants. Instructors facilitate the caregiver and child's exploration of the water through activities, songs and games.

Parent/Tot:
(18 - 36 months with parent) The Parent/Tot class continues the parent and child experience for toddlers. Instructors facilitate the caregiver and child's exploration of the water through activities, songs and games.

Pre-Pike: (3 - 5 years with parents) The Pre-Pike class provides an opportunitiy for children who are not quite comfortable to start out preschool lessons without their parent. This class is also great for those that want to continue the parent and child experience. Skills in this class are similar to those in our pike level and are taught through the parent with the support of the instructor.

Preschool Lesson Program
Ages 3-6 (Prior to 1st Grade)

The Preschool swim lesson program serves as a great introduction to the water for children ages three to six. Through age-appropriate drills, games, and activities, the Preschool swim lesson program helps children develop comfort, confidence, and techniques they can use for the rest of their lives.

Pike: The Pike class will help children understand basic aquatic safety and learn to be comfortable in the water. Children will be supported by the instructor then gradually learn to swim short distances independently and showing comfort submerging.
Eel: The Eel class will help children build confidence swimming independently and gaining an introduction to front crawl and back crawl.
Ray: The Ray class will build upon the strokes learned in the Eel class with an emphasis on rotary breathing and an introduction to elementary back stroke, and the kneeling dive.
Starfish: The Starfish class will build on the introductory strokes learned in the earlier levels and works on stroke technique. The class also works on building stamina in the water to swim greater distances up to 25 yards.
