Giving Tuesday at the South Shore Y!

Posted: Nov. 22, 2022 Donate Now

Kick off the giving season on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, by supporting the South Shore YMCA’s Holiday Assistance Program this #GivingTuesday!

#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.

This holiday season, you can make a difference for a local child on GivingTuesday, the World’s Biggest Day of Generosity. On #GivingTuesday, you have the chance to help our Y in so many ways:

  • Donate money to support our food pantry in providing healthy food and holiday meals to community members in need.
  • Donate money or purchase Holiday Wish List Gifts to help provide warm clothing and holiday gifts for local families who are struggling.
  • Adopt a Family and purchase gifts for a local family in need to brighten their holiday and home.
  • Purchase a Gift of Opportunity to send a local child to YMCA camp, swim lessons, and more.

No matter the time of year, every gift to the SSYMCA changes lives, and with these contributions, the South Shore YMCA is able to strengthen the communities we serve, helping people give back and assist our neighbors in times of need through volunteering and contributions to our causes.
