South Shore YMCA Health & Wellness Director Kim Driscoll Honored by Department of Defense

Posted: May. 12, 2022

On May 10, 2022, Kim Driscoll, Director of Health & Wellness at the South Shore YMCA Quincy branch, was honored with a Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense. The award recognizes extraordinary support of employees who serve in the Massachusetts National Guard and Reserve.

According to Paul Zibowski ESGR Massachusetts Chair, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Ms. Driscoll was nominated for being highly supportive of the National Guard and Reserve Service by her Reserve Component employee, Kenny Dong, who works as part of the Quincy YMCA Health & Wellness team. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve Units.”

“I am honored to be recognized by the Massachusetts National Guard and Reserve, and appreciate being nominated by a member of our Y team,” said Ms. Driscoll. “The Y is here to support our community and keep people healthy, and through his work on the Quincy Y Health & Wellness team and his service to the Guard and Reserve, Kenny is both keeping people healthy and protecting them, which is truly admirable.”
