Livestrong at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week physical activity program designed to help survivors get back on their feet and return to a “new normal.”

LIVESTRONG at the Y assists those who are living with or beyond cancer to regain strength, confidence and connect with other cancer survivors. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA participants experience improved fitness and significant decreases in cancer-related fatigue. Open to adults 18 years or older at no cost, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is about overall health, not about disease.

  • 12-week program with two 75-90-minute sessions per week
  • Includes cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance, and flexibility exercises
  • Evaluation includes fitness and quality of life assessments before and after participation
  • Facilitated by YMCA-certified instructors
  • Requires referral and medical clearance from a physician
