Hanover, MA — The South Shore YMCA is proud to announce a $5,000 grant from the Cordelia Family Foundation, supporting the growth and impact of the South Shore YMCA Family Farm located in Hanover.
This generous gift will help expand the farm’s capacity to grow and distribute fresh, healthy produce to families in need across the South Shore, particularly through Y-based food pantries and community outreach efforts. The farm also serves as an educational and volunteer hub, connecting children, families, and community partners to the land and to each other.
“We’re incredibly grateful for this support,” said Kate Smith, Farmer at the South Shore YMCA. “The Cordelia Family Foundation is helping us nourish both bodies and communities—this grant strengthens our mission to grow food with purpose.”
The Family Farm is a vital part of the Y’s efforts to address food insecurity and promote healthy living. This grant will ensure more families have access to nutritious food, hands-on learning, and meaningful connections to where their food comes from.
