SOUTH SHORE YMCA

Holiday Assistance

Making Holidays Brighter

The South Shore YMCA Holiday Assistance Program provides gifts, holiday meals, coats, and clothing — plus engaging Y programs like camp, swim lessons, and membership — to thousands of South Shore families each year. Through generous contributions and support from local businesses, organizations, individuals, and volunteers, we can bring a light of hope during the holidays and all year round to those who need it most.

The program is available to qualified residents within our service area: Braintree, Cohasset, Hanover, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, and Weymouth.

THANK YOU!

With the help of our hardworking team of staff, donors, and volunteers, we delivered holiday gifts and cheer to over 845 children across the South Shore through the 2022 Holiday Assistance Program. Click the link below to read thank you letters from our program recipients. THANK YOU LETTERS

How You Can Help

There are a variety of ways you, your family, friends, businesses, and organizations can get involved to help our community this holiday season.

Give the Gift of Opportunity at the Y

Give a child an everlasting gift of opportunity through Y programs. Consider sending a child to camp, providing swim lessons, or giving the gift of good health through family membership. A certificate of your Y gift will be wrapped and delivered to the child/family for the holidays. Simply download and complete our Holiday Program Giving Sheet, and return it to the Y with your payment. Also, donations of backpacks, water bottles, towels, and other items can be donated to package with your gift. Contact Mary Orne, morne@ssymca.org, 781-264-9453, for details. Giving Sheet

Donate

Local families and children need help during the holidays...and beyond. Donations do more than provide holiday gifts, they help us to provide nutritious food and warm clothing, and help keep children and teens engaged all year long. Your donation can help sustain our food pantry to feed our neighbors in need and make the holidays brighter for all. Donate

Meet Katie

Katie is a hardworking mother of three children who has sought the help of The South Shore YMCA Germantown Neighborhood Center and Holiday Assistance Program to help her and her family make ends meet during the holidays and all year round. Learn how your generosity can help families right here on the South Shore all year round.

Thanks to our Volunteers & Supporters

We could not do this vital work without the dedication and continuous support of our donors, volunteers and partners.
