South Shore Strypers Qualify for Y Nationals

The South Shore YMCA Strypers swim team participated in the Baystate games this weekend and from the meet, four team members have newly qualified for the Y Nationals Competition. Swimmer Reid Nussbaum made the 50 and 200 m butterfly, and also set a meet record in the 209 m fly. Athlete Clara Bodnar qualified in the 50, 100, and 200m fly. She also set meet records in the 100 and 200m fly – the 200m fly being a 26 year old record! Alex Yun and Karim Mouline qualified for the 200 and 400 medley relays.

Currently, the South Shore YMCA Strypers have 8 swimmers heading to the Y National Championship Meet. From the men’s team: Nick Toepfer, Alex Yun, Reid Nussbaum, and Karim Mouline. From the SSYMCA Stryper’s women’s team: Clara Bodnar, Elle Anthony, Emily Dobrindt and Abby Toepfer.
The Y Nationals meet will take place July 30-Aug 3 at the Eppley Aquatic Center University of Maryland College Park.
