It’s award season for spring high school athletes, and the South Shore YMCA’s tennis tennis players certainly did not disappoint! The area’s best and brightest tennis players were honored last night at the annual Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic awards event held at Lombardo’s in Randolph.

The Patriot Ledger selected 14 players (7 boys/7 girls) as All-Scholastic and the SSYMCA is home for 6 of them, including Hingham’s Anna Calame (Pictured, Patriot League MVP, off to Bates College), Cooper Pennell and Liam Bevens (both juniors); Duxbury’s Melissa Linsdell (US Naval Academy) and Guy Holbrook (Patriot League MVP, off to St. Lawrence University), and Hanover’s Nik Ginter (Lynn University). Ginter, who finished his high school career with a 71-7 career record, was also named Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic.

The Y also landed 11 other players on league All-Star teams, including Carly Price, Aidan Connorly and Schuyler Bordeau (Hingham), Alli Carroll (Plymouth), Owen Roche (Whitman), Alex Knight (Scituate); and Alex Ginter, Eric Hanrahan, Harry O’Brien, Jared Rizzo and Sam O’Grady (Hanover).
