Friends of the South Shore YMCA Germantown Neighborhood Center gathered together on February 27 for our monthly Cultural Supper in celebration of Black History Month, our vibrant community, and our commitment to providing a sense of belonging for all. Thanks to our own Girl Power group for inspiring us with their beautiful dance and poetry performance, and for our fabulous Germantown cooks Shareca, Courtney, Oretha, Shawona and others for preparing incredible food from the West Coast of Africa and food with Southern charm.
The energy in the room (and kitchen!!!) was positively contagious with smiles, conversations and passionate community friends including Rep. Tackey Chan, several Cause Board members & Annual Campaign Co-Chair Effie Lee, City Planning, Aspire Health Alliance, South Shore YMCA staff, volunteers and more.
