Murphy Electric & Industrial Control Employees Support the Germantown Community Garden

Posted: Nov. 11, 2021

On Wednesday, November 10, volunteers from Murphy Electric & Industrial Control spent the day volunteering with the South Shore YMCA at our Germantown Neighborhood Center in Quincy. Paul Mollica, a longtime Y supporter who volunteers to care for the center’s community garden and landscaping, led the team in fall-clean-up projects to prepare the grounds for the cold weather ahead.

Volunteers from Murphy Electric helped winterize the Germantown Community Gardens for the past two years. “I was extremely impressed with the Murphy Electric Team,” said Mollica, “All of the volunteers there were happy and thrilled to help out and make a difference”.

Murphy Electric’s CEO Dan Murphy, along with 15 employees, worked hard and accomplished so much for the Y’s Germantown Neighborhood Center, preparing gardens, flower beds, rose gardens for the winter weather and cleaning the grounds.

“You could feel the goodness in the air while they worked,” said Kathy Quigley, Development Director at the South Shore YMCA, “as people lined up for the food pantry and parents brought their kids to school, they all felt pride that there are people in the community that care about them”.

Thanks to the team at Murphy Electric for doing great work for our community.
