On Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7, the downstairs level of the Quincy Y branch was repainted by volunteers from Sherwin-Williams.

“We’re here today painting the Quincy Y because we love giving back to the community through projects like this,” said Samuel Goodrich, City Manager for Sherwin-Williams. “35 volunteers from Sherwin-Williams are here on-site from today through tomorrow to help repaint the downstairs level of the branch. We use volunteer days like today as an opportunity to teach our new employees to paint so that they can give good customer service to our customers as well. It’s a great atmosphere – everyone’s really excited to be here and be a part of this today.”

A short walk down the road from the Quincy YMCA branch, one of Sherwin-Williams’ newest store locations has recently opened, much to the excitement of Sherwin-Williams employees and the local community.

“We have a national paint week going on right now so stores all over the country are doing different projects to help the community like what we’re doing here today at the Quincy Y,” said Kelsey Pannier, Store Manager for the new Sherwin-Williams Quincy location. “We’re excited to call Quincy home, and look forward to serving the local community.”

“For the Quincy YMCA, this is a tremendous gift that Sherwin-Williams has given us,” said Erik Abboud, Associate Executive Director, South Shore YMCA, Quincy branch. “Donating everything from their time to the paint and materials needed to keep our Quincy Y refreshed, they’ve made themselves great neighbors to us here on Coddington Street and we look forward to their continued partnership.”
