The South Shore Y’s 2018 Thingamajig® Invention Convention took place yesterday, August 9, 2018. The event allowed children to participate in hands-on exhibits, challenges and workshops. The entire event, from the preliminary challenges to the final team project, was designed to help fight summer learning loss. Approximately 350 children from across the South Shore participated in this year’s convention, held at the South Shore YMCA’s Quincy Branch. The event was supported in part by grants from Braintree, Hingham and Quincy Cultural Councils as well as South Shore Music Circus.
