Quincy, MA — The South Shore YMCA is proud to announce it has received a generous $20,000 grant from the Harold Brooks Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee, in support of the Germantown Neighborhood Center Food Pantry in Quincy.

This funding will significantly strengthen the pantry’s ability to combat food insecurity by providing essential groceries, fresh produce, and culturally relevant items to over 350 local households each month. The grant will also support operational improvements, including storage and refrigeration upgrades to safely manage and distribute food.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Harold Brooks Foundation’s investment in our work,” said Katelyn Szafir, Vice President of Operations, Hale YMCA. “This support helps ensure that our neighbors in Quincy have consistent access to nutritious food with dignity, care, and respect.”

Located in one of Quincy’s most economically challenged neighborhoods, the Germantown Food Pantry is a critical resource for families facing hardship. The South Shore YMCA remains committed to addressing food insecurity through partnerships, compassion, and community-driven solutions.
