The South Shore YMCA is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a 2025 National Wheelchair Tennis Grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA). This generous support will allow us to expand wheelchair tennis play at the Emilson YMCA in Hanover, ensuring that athletes of all abilities have access to the sport and opportunities to develop their skills.

Wheelchair tennis is a fast-growing sport that promotes physical fitness, inclusivity, and community connection. With the support of this grant, the Emilson YMCA will enhance its wheelchair tennis programming, providing more athletes with adaptive equipment, expert coaching, and structured play opportunities.

“We are incredibly grateful to the USTA for their commitment to making tennis accessible to all,” said Dan Berry, Vice President of Operations, Emilson YMCA. “This grant will allow us to grow our wheelchair tennis program and empower more athletes to experience the joy and competitive spirit of the sport. We look forward to welcoming new and returning players to the courts.”
