SSYMCA Board Members Donate Fresh Meals to the Community

Posted: Feb. 18, 2022

On Thursday, February 16, 2022, South Shore YMCA board members and longtime supporters Kathie and Jack McDonough donated 100 handmade chicken pot pies from Main Couse Market in Canton to be delivered throughout our community.

The pies were shared with residents from Bethany Apartments in Hanover, residents of the Rehoboth House in Norwell, and to neighbors at the South Shore YMCA Germantown Neighborhood Center in Quincy, to brighten their day and help fight food insecurity.

Recipients expressed appreciation for these fresh, healthy meals to help alleviate the stress of providing dinner for their families.

The McDonoughs are active in the South Shore YMCA community, always volunteering and finding ways to give back. They continuously look for ways to support local restaurants and caterers, while helping our Y support neighbors who may need a ray of light.

“We are so fortunate to have donors like the McDonoughs that never hesitate to jump in to help with any need that we may have at the South Shore YMCA” said Kathy Quigley, Director of Development. “At the Y, we continue to work with community partners to reach out to even more families and individuals in our service area who are facing food insecurity, delivering special meals and sharing the message that somebody cares.”
