Nick Toepfer Named Scholastic All-American

USA Swimming will recognize just over 1,600 high school aged swimmers who go above and beyond in the pool and the classroom for the 2018-2019 Scholastic All-America selections. The academic requirement is a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5. In the pool, the minimum requirement is at least one Junior National qualifying time in an individual event for the 2018-19 season.

Nick Toepfer is a rising Junior at Braintree High School and a longtime member of the SSYMCA Strypers. He has reached high academic success while maintaining the rigorous schedule required of a high-level swimmer. Nick has been very successful this year in the pool with Junior National times in both the 100 and 200 backstroke for both SCY and LCM seasons, but he also recently qualified or the 2019 Toyota US Open that will be held at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center, (home of the 1996 Olympics). He and eight of his Stryper teammates will head to College Park, Maryland for the 2019 LCM YMCA National Championships July 30-August 4th.

Lead by Director Competitive Swimming/Head Coach Bernie Dickman and Assistant Director Tim Anderson, the squad of Elle Anthony, Clara Bodnar, Emily Dobrindt, Reilly Nussbaum, and Abby Toepfer for the girls and Karim Mouline, Reid Nussbaum, Nick Toepfer, and Alex Yun for the boys.  The swimmers will swim a combined of 5 relays and 21 individual events.
