We are excited to announce that Trevor Williams has been appointed by the Executive Board as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the South Shore YMCA, effective January 1, 2026. Trevor will succeed retiring CEO Paul Gorman, who led the organization for 16 years.
With more than 33 years of demonstrated leadership, including 20 years within the YMCA, Trevor brings a wealth of experience, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to community impact. His career has been defined by transformative achievements in multi-site operations, board and staff development, philanthropy, capital project management, and innovative health and wellness programming.
Since joining the South Shore YMCA in 2020 as Chief Operating Officer, Trevor has navigated the Y through unprecedented challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. With his assistance, the organization not only rebounded to surpass pre-pandemic revenue levels, but did so with a more efficient operational model, resulting in stronger financial performance and long-term sustainability.
Trevor has managed more than $21 million in capital investment projects since 2020, revitalizing facilities and expanding services to better meet the needs of our members and the communities we serve. His strategic acumen has helped drive membership growth, enhanced retention, and reimagined financial assistance programs to ensure accessibility for all.
Executive Board Chair Mike Mullin shared his confidence in Trevor’s leadership, stating, “Over the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Trevor and witnessing his unwavering dedication to the mission of the South Shore YMCA. Most recently, his work with the Executive Board in developing our three-year strategic plan has been instrumental in charting a clear and ambitious course for the future. Trevor brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach and a deep understanding of our community’s needs. I am confident that under his guidance, the South Shore YMCA will continue to thrive and expand its impact for generations to come.”
Paul Gorman reflected on the transition, saying, “Trevor is the right leader at the right time for the South Shore YMCA. His passion for our mission, his drive to accomplish transformational projects, and his dedication to strengthening the South Shore community have been evident since the day he joined our team. I’m excited to see how Trevor will build on that foundation to take the Y to even greater heights.”

His leadership and vision have helped me feel confident as I take over as President & CEO. I know I have big shoes to fill, but I am excited to continue to work with our great volunteer Board of Directors and team of talented employees to bring our exciting future to life.”
