Celebrating 50 Years of USTA Wheelchair Tennis

In 2026, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Wheelchair Tennis, honoring the pioneers, athletes, coaches, and advocates who have helped transform the sport over the past five decades.
As part of this national celebration, the South Shore YMCA is proud to host one of the region’s premier wheelchair tennis tournaments and to support the continued growth of adaptive tennis opportunities for athletes of all abilities.

Celebrating 20 Years at the South Shore YMCA

For 20 years, the South Shore YMCA has been committed to expanding access to wheelchair tennis through clinics, camps, tournaments, open court opportunities, and community partnerships. Since launching its program in 2006, the YMCA has helped athletes develop skills, build confidence, compete at all levels, and connect through the power of sport. Today, the Emilson YMCA continues to serve as a regional destination for adaptive tennis and inclusive recreation.
