SOUTH SHORE YMCA

After School

Programs

After school programs give children a place to belong and the chance to learn music, create arts and crafts, improve reading and math skills, swim with friends, and more – developing self-confidence, positive values and friendships along the way. Our licensed staff recognizes and encourages each child’s unique skills and talents.

Music for Kids at the Salah Foundation Music Center

Cooking Matters Kids

Cooking Matters Kids is a hands-on cooking class where children learn how to prepare delicious, healthy, and inexpensive meals, working together with a professional chef and nutritional expert in a fun-filled environment. They can then share these delicious recipes, nutritional information and cooking skills with their families. Grades 4 & 5

Reading Round-Up and Swimming

Reading and learning to swim are this program’s focus. The children visit the Adams Shore Library and have one-on-one reading time with retired professionals, many of whom are educators. They also travel to South Shore YMCA for swim instruction, helping each child develop strong water safety and swimming skills. Grades 1 & 2

I’ve come to the Germantown Neighborhood Center my whole entire life, for all the children’s programs, sports, homework club, everything. The reason that I go to college now is because of this place. I graduated from college with a 3.9 GPA and my hope is to go to law school next year.. If you have hope you can accomplish anything you want in your life. Oliver
