Group Fitness: Grow Stronger Together

Our classes are now held in outdoor and larger indoor spaces, like our turf and gymnasiums, to allow for fresh air and safe physical distancing. Equipment is at a minimum and is cleaned by staff before and after classes.

Discover low-impact and beginner classes, cardio fitness, dance, Zumba, Pilates, group cycling and Yoga, plus more advanced options like spin, boot camps and functional training classes. Most are free to members, and all are designed to help you become the better you. Classes are for SSYMCA Members age 14 and older. (Members under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.) Not all classes are offered at all locations. Please check group fitness schedules for class locations and times.

Virtual Classes: Work Out From Home

Members can enjoy virtual workouts from local and national Y instructors, and the experts at Les Mills. Our own team will be adding new classes and LIVE options this fall!


Boot Camp

This series offers challenging, instructor-led workouts combining strength, agility and aerobic training for real results.


Cardio Cross-Training

Cardio conditioning classes are designed to get your heart rate up and keep you moving, including interval training, boot camps, weight classes designed with a focus on building strength and muscle with a cardio element as well.


Indoor Cycling Classes

There’s good reason why Keiser Indoor Cycling is one of the hottest trends in fitness. Enjoy the thrill of athletic racing and interval training using indoor stationary bikes as an instructor leads the class through a variety of settings for a full workout. There are classes for all levels.


Youth Health & Fitness

These classes are designed to get the family moving together. Classes are available for preschoolers through teens, and may include Yoga, Sports Conditioning and inclusive and Adaptive Fitness options.


Yoga

Yoga classes will help you develop flexibility, strength and balance.


Pilates

Our Pilates programs are designed to strengthen and lengthen your muscles, improve range of motion, increase core strength and stability – all while supporting your back.


Senior Fitness

Exercise is the fountain of youth! Get active and strong and improve flexibility and mobility with classes geared towards senior members (ages 65+), like chair Yoga, water exercise and more.


Strength Conditioning Training

Strength training classes target specific muscle groups or provide an overall workout. These class include Toning (Total Body Strength) and Abs.


Water Exercise

Water exercise is a great way to add physical activity to your life! Low-impact water exercise takes pressure off bones, joints and muscles, using natural resistance to strengthen your muscles. Classes include Deep Water Aerobics, Water Aerobics and Water Walking.


Zumba & Dance

Zumba® cardio fitness is for everyone, incorporating music and dance styles from around the world, like Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Samba, Tango, Calypso, Rock, Belly Dance, Cha Cha, Jive, Jazz, African, Caribbean, and Hip Hop. Switch between high and medium intensity phases to burn fat and calories. Join the party!

Membership

On-Site Babysitting

At the Y, fitness is for the whole family — and Moms and Dads need their workout time! Free on-site babysitting at Emilson YMCA and Quincy YMCA playrooms is included in our Household Membership, available for children ages 6 months to 6 years old. Older kids can enjoy our Youth Activity Center or get certified to workout alongside their parents.

Free Babysitting
My family and I are at the Y at least 4 times a week. I love that I can drop my kids off at the Playroom to go workout. I love the options of fitness classes; I do Body Pump, Definitions, and Zumba. The trainers and staff are always ready to answer questions We will be members for a LONG time.
