A New Year is always filled with the promise of positive change and promises to ourselves. At the South Shore YMCA, we believe that whole health – spirit, mind, and body- includes being active, eating healthy, pursuing interests, learning new things, and connecting with people. No matter your age, the South Shore YMCA has a wide range of programs and activities designed to help active older adults achieve and maintain wellness.

Our Y is beginning the new year with exciting new fitness offerings to make 2023 your healthiest year ever. With dozens of new group exercise classes, there’s something new for everyone to enjoy at the Y.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES

Each week the South Shore YMCA runs dozens of group fitness classes for members of all ages and abilities. Discover low-impact and beginner classes, cardio fitness, dance, Zumba, Pilates, group cycling and Yoga, plus more advanced options like cycling, boot camps, Les Mills, and functional training classes. Group exercise classes are open to South Shore YMCA members aged 14 and older (members under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

  • GRIT Strength: Tuesdays, 7AM
  • Body Combat: Tuesdays, 7:30 AM
  • NEW Stability Ball Abs/Stretch: Fridays, 4 PM
  • Pilates: Wednesdays, 8 AM
  • Body Pump: Sundays, 8:30 AM
  • NEW Aqua Tai Chi: Wednesdays, 7:30 AM
  • Pound FIT: Thursdays, 6 PM
  • Barre: Mondays, 6:30 PM
  • Aging Adult Spin Class: Thursdays 8 AM
