The South Shore YMCA will host the 23rd Annual Taste of the South Shore on Thursday, March 28 starting at 6:00 pm at Lombardo’s in Randolph. The Taste of the South Shore is the premier social and tasting event on the South Shore and is the signature fundraiser for the South Shore YMCA. The evening features delicious gourmet tastings from the region’s premier restaurants, breweries, and wineries, all coming together to donate their time and raise money for a good cause. This year’s event is co-chaired by Hetal Desai & Eric Caron, Executive Chef at Lombardo’s.

“The passion that everyone brings to the table for this event is truly amazing,” said co-chair Hetal Desai. “From the chefs to the volunteers, everyone is motivated to give 110 percent of themselves. Most amazing to me is that each of our restaurants, breweries and wineries are donating all of their time, efforts, and food and beverage to ultimately benefit the South Shore Y. They understand that the YMCA is a charity and know what a staple the Y’s facilities, programs and services are for our local communities. I am honored and excited to be a part of this year’s Taste of the South Shore.”

This year’s participating restaurants, wineries and breweries include: Abby Park, Alma Nove, Barrel House Z, Bia Bistro, Bin Ends, Bradford, Distillery, Caffe Tosca, Castle Island Brewing Co., The Chef’s Table, Corner Stop Eatery, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Fratelli’s Pastry Shop, Fruit Center Marketplace, Galley Kitchen & Bar, Greenside Grille, Harpoon Brewery, hint water, Honey Dew Coffee, Jake’s Seafood, JP Fuji Group, KEEL Vodka, Konditor Meister, Lavishly Dunn Catering, Leena’s Kitchen, Lombardo’s, Mayflower Brewing Company, Montilio’s Baking Company, Naked Ox Beer Company, Novara, Plymouth Bay, Winery, Restaurant ORO, Rumson’s Rum, Scarlet Oak Tavern, Stars on Hingham Harbor, The Tinker’s Son, Tosca, Trident Galley & Raw Bar, Untold Brewing, Yocha and more.

In addition to Lombardo’s both hosting and participating in this year’s Taste, the restaurant’s Executive Chef Eric Caron is also serving as event co-chair, as well.

“Watching guests stop at each table to learn about each dish or drink is only half the fun for us chefs,” shared Chef Caron. “We love participating year after year to see the new and exciting tastings the other restaurants, breweries and wineries come up with. There is a sense of competition and pride among the exhibitors as well, as to who will ‘wow’ the attendees most. Every year, this event keeps getting better and we expect this year to be no different. We’re excited, and we’re ready to put on another great Taste of the South Shore for over 700 attendees.”

For over 20 years now, The Taste of the South Shore has brought together the region’s best from the food and beverage scene, this year to support the South Shore YMCA community by strengthening families and children in spirit, mind and body.

“We are beyond appreciative of our chefs who participate year after year because they believe in the South Shore YMCA and its mission,” said Michelle Duggan, Senior Development Director, South Shore YMCA. “The YMCA is a charity – ensuring everyone in our community has access to life-changing Y programs and services, regardless of their ability to pay. All proceeds from this event will benefit families and children right here on the South Shore. From our chefs to our guests, everyone can feel good knowing that in addition to a fun night out, they’ll be supporting a great cause as well.”

Tickets are $125 per person. To purchase tickets and learn more about the event, visit www.ssymca.org/events/taste-of-south-shore. For questions or restaurant and sponsorship inquiries, please contact Michelle Duggan at mduggan@ssymca.org or (781) 264-9416.
