To our South Shore YMCA Family,
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Stacey Erin Hugues, a beloved member of our South Shore YMCA family. Stacey was not just a colleague, but a cherished friend to many, and her loss leaves a hole in our hearts.
Stacey was a shining example of kindness and grace. As a Yoga and Pilates Instructor, she was always welcoming to all her students, making them feel seen and heard, and inspiring many to lead healthier lives.
Stacey’s positive outlook on life was contagious, even as she battled cancer over the years. She never let her illness define her, and her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her.
As part of our Y family, Stacey selflessly shared her own experience to help others. She was instrumental in the launch of our South Shore YMCA Staystrong Cancer Support Program, which to date has served over 1,500 patients and families, including her own. Additionally, each October she and her dear friend, Amber Gregory, taught a community yoga class together to raise money and support for Staystrong.
But Stacey’s impact on our community goes far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was a devoted wife and mother, and her love for her family was evident in everything she did.
Stacey’s passing is a tremendous loss, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We are grateful for the time we had with her and for the joy and light she brought into our lives. We extend our deepest condolences to Stacey’s family and friends during this difficult time.
