Our Commitment is to Child Safety

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the South Shore YMCA is joining YMCAs across the country to take action and raise awareness about how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child abuse.

At the South Shore YMCA, we place great value on providing a child-safe and child-centered atmosphere, where all children have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We all have important roles to play in ensuring bright futures for the children in our lives, and we invite you to join us in our commitment to keeping all children safe through education, prevention and awareness.

While the Y is committed to child safety year-round, each April we add a special emphasis on raising awareness in our communities in support of this national movement by offering a variety of opportunities and resources that promote child well-being and enhance child safety. We invite you to use the resources we have available on our Safe Kids page to understand how you can play a role in protecting all children.
